Hampshire cricket captain Dim-e-tree Mass-c-rain-ass’s Indian Premier League debut is set to be sooner rather than later.
He will still captain Hampshire in the LV County Championship opening match tommorrow against Sussex at Hampshire’s home ground, The Rose Bowl.
However he will now be away from April Twenty-Seventh till May the Twelfth instead of May Twelfth till May Twenty-Sixth.
The change means the all-rounder will miss matches against Somerset, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.

I’m not an expert at reading out the news and sport on radio, but I think when you go phonetic you put it is square brackets after the normal spelling (I think that’s what I saw in scripts littering up the newsroom at the BBC – but Ally is more of an expert than me).
Now then young Mark – good news for you and your sporting journalism cohorts. The editor of the Basingstoke local paper wants to get involved with the course (I hope). The initial contact has been made and he seems keen. One possibility is that the local grass-roots sports reporting we have previously talked about could take on some sort of actual formal shape linked to the paper and the mighty NewsQuest news machine that owns it. So more of this later when I have another talk with him.

Thanks Chris, i think your right that the phonetics should be singled out in some way. Will remember that for the future!
As for the basingstoke paper editor, that sounds like a very good idea and link to have. I look forward to developing it further.
